Admittedly, at first all I could think of for X was Xylophone! But I do not have a xylophone, so I had to rack my brain a bit!
Then it dawned on me that I took this picture with my microscope for Apologia Biology, Module 14….all it needed was a label! Do you remember Xylem and Phloem? In case you’ve gotten a bit rusty on your plant biology, Xylem is the stuff that carries the water and dissolved minerals up to the leaves of a plant. In this picture of the Zea Mays (Corn) Root, it is where those nice empty looking circles are. (Look at the lower left corner of the letter X.)
And now I’m on to conquer the letter “Y”…..hmmmm
