Just looking at the blog this morning, I feel like we’re really overdue for a little leisure time! “All work and no play…..”, you know the rest. So I dug deep into my vast reliquary of boating pictures and found a few for your enjoyment! I never grow weary of the dolphin, especially when they’re in the mood to play. We’ve had the boat for about four years now, and this is a scene I always cherish.
Last time we were out, it was NOT a good trip. The trip we planned, was interrupted by a fried wiring harness and trouble with the turbo. We had to head back, but could only make about 9 knots; made for a pretty slow afternoon. We were frustrated, yet again, that our plans for a trip south to wherever we decided to end up, ended in a mechanical problem. We were caught up in our conversation about “selling this piece of junk”, heading back home instead of on vacation, and we noticed that behind us in our “dophin perfect” wake was a pod of the graceful beauties. (I think there were five in all, including some young trainees.) We had forgotten that dolphin, for some reason, love the wake when we’re only going about 9 knots.
Sometimes, we need to just slow down, breathe and wait for God to speak.
I love the part in the story of Job, where he tells his friends this….”But now ask the beasts, and let them teach you; And the birds of the heavens, and let them tell you. Or speak to the earth and let it teach you; And let the fish of the sea declare to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this, In whose hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind?” Job 12:7-10 NASB
Take some time to enjoy God’s amazing creation! š
