My desk sits in front of big picture windows. It is filled with paperwork in progress for the business, items to be reviewed for Mosaic Reviews, bills to be paid, homeschool files and lots of other junk needing to be taken care of! So I’m sitting here, a bit overwhelmed at times, trying to be productive and in flies a flock of some kind of bird. All 20 of them land right in the tree closest to the window. I don’t know what they are…quick grab the camera…oh no, it’s downstairs! So I run downstairs, hoping they don’t fly away. Grab the camera, run upstairs, whew…..they’re still there….snap a few pictures. Ok, now they’re closer to the downstairs window so I run back downstairs. Awesome!
But what are they? Then I remember the Audubon Birds app on my iPad, which is, of course, upstairs! Back up I go! I do an advanced search…small like a sparrow, in Michigan in January, has yellow, tan, white, red…..search….It’s the Cedar Waxwing!
They are beautifully designed, don’t you think?
I love the mask. It makes them look mysterious. 🙂
“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns,
and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”
So let’s put our worrying behind us and get on with our day. He’s got this! As for me, I think I need to move my desk away from the windows. How am I supposed to get anything done?
